Keith's Frequently Asked Questions

Why isn't my job running in the Queue?

This is probably the most frequent of the frequently asked questions that I am asked. [For those of you visiting from outside of R&H, the Queue is a program of ours which assigns available CPU's to jobs which have been submitted by our users (known as Td's). When a user sees that their job isn't getting any CPU's, they call me.] Perhaps there isn't enough memory to run your job, or you haven't been assigned any processors. Or, it is possible that the number of system processors is inadequate. If your job requires multiple processors to run, you may have to wait until enough processors become available.

Did you cut your hair?

No, I did not cut my hair. My hair appears to change length due to weather conditions, how recently I washed it, what conditioner I last used, and which brush I last brushed it with. So it just appears to change length randomly.

Do you ever cut your hair?

I wouldn't say "never". But it's been quite a while. "Don't never have to cut it 'cause it stops by itself."

How many Bangles shirts do you have?

A lot.

Wherefore Bangles?

Many people think that the Bangles are just another 80's pop band. Well, they may be right, but it wasn't always that way. Early in the 80's, the Bangles were quite a different music group. They were a regular band made up of regular people who wrote nice, solid songs and played them with simple arrangements. But unfortunately, they sold out for fame and fortune, becoming another glamorous "girl group", playing top-40 songs written by Prince and using studio musicians on their over-produced albums. But being a responsible fan of the original group, I continued to go to concerts, hoping that they might regain the integrity they once had. Well, they didn't. But I ended up with a lot of T-Shirts anyway. (And I'm not the only fan left, it appears. Check out http://sipi.usc.edu/~clare/Bangles.html)

Don't your feet get cold?

They certainly do. But fashion knows no pain.

Don't your feet get dirty?

Right again! In order to make an omelette you've got to break a few eggs.
