I grew up in Iowa City, Iowa and St. Louis, Missouri. I escaped the Midwest to attend Caltech. I graduated in spring of '93 with a variety of unuseful skills like juggling, guitar playing, and all sorts of useless net stuff. On the other hand the useless net stuff led me to a job at Rhythm and Hues Studios, first as a systems operator then scanning/recording operator and finally full technical director. We do computer graphics for movies, theme parks, and commercials. R&H won the 1995 Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, for the movie Babe. Our recent features include work on Nutty Professor, Batman and Robin, Speed 2, Mouse Hunt, Babe 2, Soldier, Mystery Men, and Stuart Little. I'm working on a car commercial right now.
My hobbies
include cycling,
racquetball,
playing in a garage
band (above),
and games of all sorts. One of my favorite places to hang out was at
Kontrol Faktory. Sadly, it
is now closed. I have taken up
Lindy
Hop
instead.
And now, I will rip off something I saw on someone's home page at the University of Washington and list 99 dumb facts about myself.
