HR Assistant

Staff Position.

Perform daily clerical and administrative needs of the Human Resources Department.

The individual must consistently maintain the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism and customer service, and have an exceptional attention to detail,excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain employee files for current and former employees.
  • Create and maintain records for I-9, EEO, and employee demographic information.
  • Create and maintain employee immigration files.
  • Sort and distribute paychecks for bi-weekly payroll and manual checks.
  • Keep all HR related forms in stock and available for employees.
  • Create health benefit enrollment packets.
  • Submit enrollment and termination paperwork for employees on Health Benefit Plan, LTD and Life Insurance
  • Complete unemployment claims and disability claims for EDD
  • Fax union timesheets to payroll company
  • Create newhire and endhire packets for employees.
  • Order all forms and packets for Credit Union
  • Create annual payroll binders for payroll information
  • Answer general questions, direct employees to other HR employees, other general help for employees, as needed.
  • Support HR employees in the performance of their responsibilities, as needed.

Qualifications
  • Excellent office administration, follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Working knowledge of office processes, HR procedures, and related computer software (Word, Excel, Database).
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with customers or employees in a service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with a variety of projects and with multiple deadlines.
