Executive Producer
A visual effects producer since 1996, Erika Wangberg Burton has worked at several major effects and animation facilities over the course of a twenty-year career in the industry. Today, as Executive Producer of Rhythm & Hues' Film division, Erika oversees production of the studio's numerous movie projects, which currently include the 2007 releases of "His Dark Materials: Golden Compass," "Evan Almighty" and "The Kingdom."
Most recently, Erika produced the VFX and animation of "Evan Almighty," as well as the Academy Award nominated "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." She also produced "Dr. Seuss' 'The Cat in the Hat'" for the studio.
Prior to joining Rhythm & Hues in 2002, Erika was at The Secret Lab /Dream Quest Images from 1996, where she produced effects for a number of films including "Reign of Fire," "The Kid," "Bicentennial Man," "Instinct" and "Deep Rising." From 1992 to 1996 she moved up through the ranks at Industrial Light + Magic, working on "Mission: Impossible" and "Men in Black," and other projects. Early in her career she did stints at Jim Henson Productions, Showtime Networks and Triad Artists.
Erika is a graduate of UCLA, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History.
