  1. What is a Rhythm & Hues Tour?

The R&H Tour is a walk through of our Marina del Rey facility, led by a knowledgeable staff member. The intent of the tour is focused on two specific audiences:

    • Students: To encourage future generations of artists in a broad spectrum of disciplines, by providing a behind-the-scenes view of the operations of a major Hollywood animation and effects production house. For students not interested in an arts or entertainment career, the R&H tour is still valuable because it demonstrates the collaborative nature of a professional (and fun!) working environment.

    • Professionals: An opportunity to see our facilities and capabilities first hand, along with the opportunity to ask our artists and staff specific questions related to your field of interest.

    • Others: Let us know if you would like us to tailor a special tour for your audience. We’ve hosted a diverse range of tours, including delegations from foreign governments, the media, the US Defense Dept., political candidates - a wide array of groups.

  2. What exactly do we get to see?

First and foremost, we're a production studio, which means our first priority is to the clients we serve. Within those parameters, the tour includes a walk through of the facility, where elements of the production pipeline such as the machine room and animator workstations are shown. When possible, we may show work in progress. One of the stops is the Screening Room where we show the Film division reel. Often the highlight of the tour is the impromptu interaction you'll have with the artists and staff.

  3. I'm an individual (student, aspring animator etc.) and want to schedule a tour. What should I do?

    • You can call the PR office - (310) 448-7477 - to try to "piggy back" on a previously scheduled tour. We will do our best to accommodate your request, based on availability.
    • If you belong to a class or group that is in (or will be in) the LA area, you can organize a tour with other students through your school or organization.
    • Finally, if you cannot visit the studio itself, we've developed our Outreach pages which feature our list of CG schools and recommended reading as a resource to students and aspiring animators.

  5. We want to have lunch in the area, where can we go?

There are a lot of eating options within a one mile radius of R&H, including the Promenade at Howard Hughes Center in nearby Culver City, as well as the many restaurants in the Marina del Rey area. If you have a student group, there are parks in the area where a sack lunch can be enjoyed. If you have a question that isn't covered here, use the comment field of the automated tour request form.

Once again, thanks for your interest in Rhythm & Hues.
