Apprentice Program FAQ
1) What is an apprenticeship program?
Ans: Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in which artists learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation. Employers usually sponsor apprenticeship programs.
2) What are the areas covered in the apprentice program?
Ans: The R&H Apprenticeship program covers Animation, Lighting, Compositing & Technology related aspects of a Visual Effects & Animation Studio.
3) When is the Animation / Lighting Apprentice program starting?
Ans: These Apprentice programs will be starting in November, 2007.
4) When is the last date for applying for the Apprentice program?
Ans: The last date of receiving applications is 20th October, 2007.
5) How should I apply for this apprentice program?
Ans: Your application packet should include:
- Cover letter and a detailed resume explaining your skills & experience.
- Demo reel
- Demonstration of attention to visual detail.
- Shot breakdown sheet including what you did on each shot and what software was used)
- Completed Apprentice Program Application Form.

6) I don't have my demo reel; can I apply for this program?
Ans: We need the demo reels to evaluate and short-list the candidates for this apprentice program. You can prepare you demo reel and apply for the next apprentice ship as Rhythm & Hues is planning to have 3-4 apprentice program, so you can always apply for the next apprentice program along with your demo reel.
7) I am currently working and I have over two years of experience, can I apply for this apprentice program?
Ans: This program is designed to identify candidates who may be suitable for entry-level Digital Artist positions in our studio and participation in the Rhythm & Hues Apprentice Program does not necessarily guarantee employment within the company. Hence it is a choice you will have to make whether to continue working where you are or to give yourself an opportunity for a possible career in Rhythm & Hues Studios India.
8) Do I get employed in Rhythm & Hues after successfully completing the apprentice program?
Ans: Some participants depending on their evaluation and the studio's needs may be given an opportunity to work with Rhythm & Hues Studios India, However participation in the Rhythm & Hues Apprentice Program does not necessarily guarantee employment within the company.
9) Do I need to pay money to Rhythm & Hues for attending this apprentice program?
Ans: No you do not have to pay any money to Rhythm & Hues. This is a paid apprentice program wherein R&H will pay a monthly stipend to the candidate who are short listed for this program.
10) How will the candidates be selected for this apprentice program?
Ans: Rhythm & Hues team will view the demo reels and short-listed potential participants will be put through a written test. Based on the result of the written test & their work on demo reels the candidates will be short listed for a skills test, which will be held at our Mumbai facility. A personal interview will then be conducted and accordingly the candidates will be selected for this program.
11) I am an outstation candidate; will I get an accommodation and will my traveling expenses be reimbursed for the written test and persona interview, which will be conducted at your Mumbai facility?
Ans: Rhythm & Hues will arrange for accommodation only for the outstation candidates who are short-listed for the written test and personal interview. We will also pay the actual traveling expense or Rs 2,500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred only) which ever is less, incurred by the outstation candidate. The tickets should be produced at the time of claiming the reimbursement from R&H.
12) I am an outstation candidate; if I am selected for the apprentice program will Rhythm & Hues provide me an accommodation during the entire program tenure?
Ans: Rhythm & Hues will not be providing any accommodation facility to the outstation candidates during the tenure or after the apprentice program. Assistance in finding an accommodation in Mumbai will be provided to the outstation participants.
13) What is the stipend amount that I will get during the program?
Ans: The stipend amount will be paid as per the industry standards, which will be discussed with the candidates once they are short-listed and they agree to the terms and conditions of this apprentice program as set by Rhythm & Hues.
14) What will be the duration of this apprentice program?
Ans: The Apprentice Programs will be usually between 4 - 8 weeks in duration with the first half consisting of structured training in a classroom environment, second half having hands on experience on a simulated feature film production, and ending with a critical evaluation.
15) Will I get a certificate after completing this apprentice program?
Ans: At the end of the apprentice program, all the participants completing this program successfully will receive a certificate from Rhythm & Hues.
