Erika Wangberg Burton
Executive Producer
A visual effects producer since 1996, Erika Wangberg Burton has worked at several major effects and animation facilities over the course of a twenty-year career in the industry.
Today, as Executive Producer of Rhythm & Hues' Film division, Erika oversees production of the studios’ numerous movie projects; among its notable upcoming 2008-09 releases are “The Incredible Hulk,” “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor,” “Cirque du Freak,” “Land of the Lost” and “State of Play.”
Most recently, Erika’s teams produced "The Golden Compass," which won both the Oscar and BAFTA, as well as the box office smash “Alvin and the Chipmunks” for the studio.
Before being promoted to executive producer, Erika was the VFX producer of the Academy Award-nominated "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” as well as “Evan Almighty” and "Dr. Seuss' 'The Cat in the Hat'" for the studio.
Prior to joining Rhythm & Hues in 2002, Erika was at The Secret Lab /Dream Quest Images from 1996, where she produced effects for a number of films including "Reign of Fire," "The Kid," "Bicentennial Man," "Instinct" and "Deep Rising." From 1992 to 1996 she moved up through the ranks at Industrial Light + Magic, working on "Mission: Impossible," "Men in Black" and other projects. Early in her career she did stints at Jim Henson Productions, Showtime Networks and Triad Artists.
Erika is a graduate of UCLA, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History.
