GREG STEELE
- VISUAL EFFECTS SUPERVISOR
Greg Steele is currently the vfx supervisor for Rhythm & Hues on “The Seventh Son,” the fantasy action feature based on the book “The Spook’s Apprentice” by author Joseph Delaney, for a 2013 theatrical release by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.
Greg recently served as visual effects supervisor for Rhythm & Hues on “X-Men: First Class” (20th Century Fox). He held the same role for “Knight and Day,” the Fox romantic thriller starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.
Since joining Rhythm & Hues in 2004, Greg has served in several supervisory positions that have prepared him for the wide-ranging creative responsibilities and skill sets of a visual effects supervisor.
Greg started out at R&H as a lighting technical director, working on “Garfield” and “Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed.” Then, for the studio’s work on the fantasy epic The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Greg was appointed the character lead for the majestic title character, Aslan. For its work on “Narnia,” R&H was honored with an Academy Award Nomination for Achievement in Visual Effects in 2005.
Later, Greg was a lighting supervisor on “Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties”, look development supervisor on “Night at the Museum,” lighting/look development supervisor on “The Incredible Hulk,” and finally, digital supervisor on “Land of the Lost” before his promotion to vfx supervisor on “Knight and Day.”
Prior to Rhythm & Hues, Greg was co-owner and creative director/vfx supervisor at Charade Visual Effects for six years in Santa Monica, specializing in commercial advertising.
