The Sum of All Fears

Based on the Tom Clancy thriller, the story follows a young Jack Ryan in his quest to solve the question of who detonated a nuclear weapon on U.S. soil, and put a stop to the escalating tensions between the U.S. and Russia. Rhythm & Hues produced approximately 140 VFX shots, including photo-real CG aircraft, missiles and a stadium; a haunting CG nuclear explosion and mushroom cloud, and widespread devastation of the city of Baltimore. The work also included pyro-technical explosions of an aircraft carrier and extensive compositing work of satellite photo zooms to the ground; matte paintings and green screen work, and miniature work of aircraft and sea vessels.
