Work produced by Rhythm & Hues for "The Lord of the Rings" totaled eight shots, including eye enlargements for an Orc, blue screen composites and a wide-angled miniature composite of an underground cavern in which Sumaran's army of Orcs search through a field of Pupae for Lurtz. The eye enlargements were created using Elastic Reality; one was done in 3D because of the large amount of perspective shift on the Orc's face as a result of his movement. Two other blue screen shots, done on the Inferno, consisted of miniature motion control passes of the cavern in which Lurtz is born.
