Rhythm & Hues earned its first Academy Award for Achievement in Visual Effects for this sweet-hearted comedy-drama about a pig raised by sheepdogs, who learns to herd sheep with a little help from Farmer Hoggett (played by James Cromwell).

Under the direction of Chris Noonan, VFX Supervisor (and studio Co-Founder) Charles Gibson led the R&H creative team who pioneered the groundbreaking animation technique of mapping CG heads onto live action animals, now widely used throughout the industry.

In addition to being named one of the Top Ten Movies of the 1990's by The Associated Press, the list of accolades for "Babe" include:

  • Critics Choice Award, Best Family Film - Broadcast Film Critics Association
